A Star in the Desert captures the essence of universal human disconnection; dreamy 7-year-old Amir embarks on a journey where reality and dreamscape become intertwined in Baghdad. Despite the war waged outside, the real battle that he fights takes place in his own mind, and he enters into the underworld of Baghdad, and faces his own inner shadows in the basement of his own soul.
This story and the corresponding message could take place in any war zone, and in any place in the world. Our goal is to capture the reactions of a child who is faced with tragedy and create a dialogue about human suffering and escapism.
